Thriving
Mississippi Communities
With Healthy and Sustainable Families
Our Mission
Mississippi Health Professionals for Climate and Health Equity (MSHPCHE) was founded in November 2022 in response to the exacerbated health harms that children, pregnant women, those with chronic illnesses, vulnerable populations and in vulnerable communities face due to climate change.
The mission of the Mississippi Health Professional for Climate and Health Equity (MSHPCHE) is to
strengthen, consolidate, and empower Mississippi's health professionals' voice by communicating climate health impacts, advocating for equitable climate solutions to the public, health professionals, and policymakers.
Change In Climate
Climate change is a continuously evolving phenomenon, posing a persistent and dynamic challenge for both professionals and community members.
Health
Health is influenced by climate change, amplifying current health inequalities, and exacerbating vulnerabilities among marginalized populations.
Collaboration
Addressing the disproportionate impact of climate change on public health requires collaborative efforts from both professionals and community members.
We promote awareness of the connection between climate change and health equity. Our resources empower individuals to address these issues, whether healthcare professionals, educators, students, or concerned citizens, fostering a healthier, more equitable future.
