Climate Change and Mental Health:
A Growing Crisis

The escalating climate crisis is not just an environmental or economic issue—it’s a profound public health emergency. Extreme weather events, rising temperatures, and ecological disruptions are contributing to an increase in mental health challenges, from anxiety and depression to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Communities already facing health disparities are being hit the hardest, amplifying existing inequalities.

Spreading Awareness and Building Resilience

At MSHPCHE, we are at the forefront of addressing the intersection of climate and mental health equity. From local community events to national conferences, our members ensure that vital conversations are happening.

Impacts of climate change intersect with and compound other factors that threaten youth mental health, which is already precarious, according to the 2023 report from APA and ecoAmerica.
